Will some Catholic Schools be forced to close? Please read!

Dear Catholic Schools Community,

Please see this very important press release from The New York State Catholic Conference on behalf of the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn. This statement has been delivered to the Office of Governor Cuomo and Mayor DeBlasio.

Millions of dollars and many precious resources have been expended to safely reopen our Catholic schools. Our principals, teachers and staff have worked too hard to keep our buildings safe rigorously following the guidelines mandated by New York State and New York City departments of health. We cannot stand by silently if our schools are to be associated with other non-compliant private schools.

We intend to be just as proactive in defending our ability to stay open and operate safely as we have been to make our schools safe places for learning

Sincerely,

Mike Deegan E-Sig.jpg

Superintendent of Schools
