Holy Thursday

In the Sacred Triduum, the Church solemnly celebrates the greatest mysteries of our redemption, keeping the memorial of the Lord, crucified, buried and risen.

The Triduum begins on Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Lord's Supper, this year celebrated by Father Connolly. Presiding at the Mass will be Bishop Dominick Lagonegro, our former Pastor and Retired Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of NY. The principal mysteries to be commemorated are the Institution of the Holy Eucharist and of Priestly Order, and the commandment of the Lord concerning fraternal charity.

Due to the pandemic, the Washing of the Feet will be omitted, but we will present the Holy Oils that were blessed by Cardinal Dolan at the Chrism Mass on Tuesday, and we will process to the school (keeping social distance) after Mass. The Repository is set up on the stage and the entire gym and cafeteria are available.

A reminder that free tickets are necessary, but if there is a need, the Liturgy will be livestreamed to the gym and a Deacon will bring Holy Communion.
