Updates from St. Columba - December 19, 2020

Music for the Fourth Sunday of Advent

Entrance

O Come, Desire of nations, bind

In one the hearts of humankind;

O bid our sad divisions cease,

And be for us the King of Peace.

Refrain:
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to you, O Israel.

Presentation

  1. Lo, how a Rose e’er blooming From tender stem hath sprung!

Of Jesse’s lineage coming, As seers of old have sung.

It came a blossom bright, Amid the cold of winter, When half spent was the night.

2.            Isaiah ‘twas foretold it, The Rose I have in mind;

With Mary we behold it, The Virgin Motherkind.

To show God’s love aright, She bore to us a Savior, When half spent was the night.

Communion

Refrain: Emmanuel, Emmanuel, Come and live in our midst.

             Emmanuel, Emmanuel, Come make your home in our hearts!

Recessional

1.         Awake! awake, and greet the new morn,

            For angels herald its dawning,

            Sing out your joy, for now he is born,

            Behold! the Child of our longing.

            Come as a baby weak and poor,

            To bring all hearts together,

            He opens wide the heav'nly door

            And lives now inside us forever.
