MUSIC – SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT
Entrance:
1. How good, Lord, to
be here!
Your glory fills
the night;
Your face and
garments, like the sun,
Shine with
unborrowed light.
2. How good, Lord, to
be here,
Your beauty to
behold
Where Moses and
Elijah stand,
Your messengers
of old.
3.. How good, Lord, to
be here!
Yet we may not
remain;
But since you bid
us leave the mount,
Come with us to
the plain.
Text: Luke 9:32-33; Joseph A. Robinson, 1858-1933, alt.
Psalm Response: I will walk before the Lord in the land of the
living.
Gospel Acclamation:
Praise and honor to you, O Lord, O Lord. Praise and honor to you,
Lord Jesus Christ.
Presentation (5:30, 7:30 and 10:30):
1. Transform us as
you, transfigured,
Stood apart on
Tabor's height.
Lead us up our
sacred mountains,
Search us with
revealing light.
Lift us from
where we have fallen,
Full of
questions, filled with fright.
2. Transform us as
you, transfigured,
Once spoke with
those holy ones.
We, surrounded by
the witness
Of those saints
whose work is done,
Live in this
world as your Body,
Chosen daughters,
chosen sons.
3. Transform us as
you, transfigured,
Would not stay
within a shrine.
Keep us from our
great temptation--
Time and truth we
quickly bind,
Lead us down
those daily pathways
Where our love is
not confined.
Text: Sylvia Dunstan, 1955-1993, 1993, GIA Publications, Inc.
Sanctus, Sanctus,
Sanctus Dóminus Deus Sábaoth.
Pleni sunt coeli et terra glória tua.
Hosánna in excélsis.
Benedíctus qui venit in nómine Dómini.
Hosánna in excélsis.
Letra y música: Graduale Romanum, 1974.
1, 2. Agnus Dei,
qui tollis peccáta mundi:
miserére nobis.
3. Agnus Dei,
qui tollis peccáta mundi:
dona nobis pacem.
Communion:
1. Tree of Life and
awesome myst'ry,
In your death we
are reborn,
Though you die in
all of hist'ry,
Still you rise
with ev'ry morn,
Still you rise
with ev'ry morn.
2. Seed that dies to
rise in glory,
May we see
ourselves in you,
If we learn to
live your story
We may die to
rise anew,
We may die to
rise anew.
3. We remember truth
once spoken,
Love passed on
through act and word,
Ev'ry person lost
and broken
Wears the body of
our Lord,
Wears the body of
our Lord.
4. Gentle Jesus,
mighty Spirit,
Come inflame our
hearts anew,
We may all your
joy inherit
If we bear the
cross with you,
If we bear the
cross with you.
5. Christ, you lead
and we shall follow,
Stumbling though
our steps may be,
One with you in
joy and sorrow,
We the river, you
the sea,
We the river, you
the sea.

ABOUT HOLY WEEK AND
EASTER
Given the restrictions
in place due to the pandemic, we find it necessary, just as we did at
Christmas, to issue free tickets for the liturgies of Holy Week and Easter. Soon,
you will receive a letter from St. Columba with all the details. The liturgies
for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil will be livestreamed and be
shown on the big screen in the school. When the church is full, we will make tickets
available for the school and you will be able to come to church to receive Holy
Communion and to Venerate the Cross. On Easter Sunday we will offer two Masses
at each scheduled time – in church and the school. Sign up for registered
parishioners begins on March 10.
SEATING CHANGE IN
CHURCH
You will notice that we
have adjusted the seating in church to bring us closer to a 50% occupancy.
Simply put, do not sit in any section of a pew with an x mark on it. Thank you again
for entering via the front doors and following the instruction of the ushers/greeters
who work hard to seat people in the appropriate spaces.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to our
children who have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Thanks
also to Sister Marie, Sister Kathleen, our Staff and Teachers for all your hard
work.
