Dear Parishioners,
We alerted
you on Monday morning that Father Michael and Father Connolly were exposed on
November 30 to someone who has since tested positive for COVID. The person did
not have and still does not have symptoms. We are happy to inform you that both
Father Michael and Father Connolly have tested negative for COVID. Because he
works closely with our priests, we asked Gary Bartilucci also to get tested,
and he is negative as well. Our priests have resumed offering Mass and the
staff will return to the parish office on Thursday.
If, in the
future, one of our staff does test positive, we will immediately contact the
Office of Risk Management of the ADNY so that containment, remediation and
legal compliance measures can be implemented as soon as possible. We would work
with the County Board of Health to provide advice on isolation, quarantine and
testing when necessary.
The best
thing we can do for one another is to continue to follow all safety guidelines,
especially the wearing of a mask always in church covering mouth and nose and
keeping distances. If you have had contact with anyone who has tested positive
for COVID, please follow all procedures, and do not come to church if you are
coughing or have ANY cold symptoms. The priests thank you for all your support
and prayers, and a special thanks to our deacons for “holding the fort!”
